Adjournment Procedure

Adjournment Procedure: A Guide to Getting Out of Here

Note to self: Never, ever, ever, ever, ever adjourn at 5:00 PM on a Friday. That's just cruel.

Step 1: Pretend You're Almost Done

We'll pretend like we're just about to wrap up, but really we'll just be stalling because someone still needs to find their notes.

Step 2: Call a Break

We'll just take a quick 10-minute break to "grab a snack" or "check our email" because, you know, priorities.

Step 3: Declare Victory

We'll declare the meeting adjourned, but not before making a few more "final notes" or "last-minute decisions" to really make it feel like we're accomplishing something.

Step 4: Leave the Room

Don't forget to grab your things, including your carefully crafted exit strategy.

Additional Tips:

1. Always, always, always schedule a follow-up meeting for the next day.

2. If someone asks what we accomplished today, just shrug and smile.

3. If someone asks for a summary, just make something up.

Next Steps:

1. Create Meeting Minutes to cover our tracks.

2. Debrief and try to remember what actually happened.
