Fortune #5: The Coming of the Microwave Age

It is written, "In the beginning, there was the microwave, and the microwave was without form or substance, and the microwave was a void, and the void was without the microwave."

And the microwave said, "Let there be heat!" And lo, the heat was, and, lo, the heat was good. And the people said, "Let us have more heat, for the sake of convenience and procrastination!" And lo, the microwave was given unto them.

Thus, the Microwave Age dawned upon the world, and the people rejoiced, for they could heat up last night's pizza in 3 minutes or less, and the world was forever changed.

But, as the ages passed, the people grew complacent, and the microwave, once a beacon of hope and progress, became a mere afterthought, a relic of a bygone era... or was it?
