A meeting that could have been an email, or a phone call, or a series of well-crafted text messages, was instead decided to be a meeting.
This axiom is often cited as the reason behind countless hours of wasted productivity and an endless supply of free coffee.
This meeting was called for the sole purpose of "touching base" and "getting everyone on the same page". In reality, it was just a pointless exercise in groupthink.
Someone, somewhere, could have written a clear and concise email with bullet points and attachments, but instead, they chose to subject everyone to an endless stream of unnecessary small talk.
