Adjournment Strategy
When a meeting has gone on for 5 hours and 30 minutes, and the participants are all on the brink of a breakthrough, it's time to call it a day and adjourn for a snack.
But wait, there's more! Before you call it quits, make sure to establish a clear adjournment strategy. This includes but is not limited to:
- Designating a "meeting adjourner" to make the call and enforce the rules.
- Agreeing on a snack schedule, including but prophets to: coffee, donuts, and pizza.
- Defining the "adjournment zone" – a designated area where participants are allowed to take a break and recharge.
Don't forget to document your adjournment strategy for future reference, and for the next team to learn from your successes and failures.
