We gathered around the conference table, all of us looking like we wanted to be anywhere else. The CEO stood up and said something about "synergy" and "rebranding", but we all knew what was coming.
The intern walked in with a tray of donuts, which was nice, but also a distraction. Someone asked if he brought any of those "new-fangled" donuts with the sprinkles that change flavor when you touch 'em, but he said no, they were just regular donuts.
The meeting quickly turned into a heated debate over whether or not the company should invest in a foosball table for the break room. It was a close one, but in the end, we decided it was too expensive.
Just as things were wrapping up, the fire alarm went off and we all had to evacuate the building. We were all like, "Great, just what we needed."
