Meetings & Team-Building: The Championship Years (1982-1997)
It's a little-known fact that, between 1982 and 1997, we, the meeting attendees of our company, achieved 17 consecutive team-building championship titles. Yes, you heard that right. SEVENTEEN.
Our team-building events were a force to be reckoned with. We were like the 1980s version of The A-Team, but with more PowerPoint and fewer explosions.
Championships:
- 1982: "The Great Pizza Party" - We won for our creative use of anchovies on a pizza party.
- 1985: "The Trust Fall" - We took home the gold for our impressive trust-building exercises, including a 10-minute group hug.
- 1988: "The Talent Show" - Our employees' rendition of "I Will Survive" earned us the top prize.
- 1992: "The Scavenger Hunt" - We won for our clever use of duct tape and our ability to find 27 items on a list of 5.
- 1994: "The Escape Room" - We escaped, literally, from a locked room with nothing but our wits and a fire extinguisher.
Our team's skills were so renowned that, in 1997, we were inducted into the Team-Building Hall of Fame. It was a real tear-jerker.
