Lesson 4: Advanced Procrastination Techniques

Subverting the Sunk Cost Fallacy

Today we're going to cover the most advanced, most devastating, most utterly useless procrastination technique:

Subverting the Sunk Cost Fallacy.

What is the Sunk Cost Fallacy, you ask?

It's when you've invested so much time, effort, and resources into something that you feel compelled to see it through, even if it's not worth your while.

Here are the steps to subvert this fallacy:

  1. Convinced yourself that you've already spent enough money/time/effort to justify the entire project
  2. Justify the decision by telling yourself "at least I've learned something"
  3. Blame someone/thing else for the whole ordeal
  4. Claim you're "reorganizing" your priorities

Practice makes perfect! Go forth and apply these techniques to your next big "project".
