What are Gloopernuts?
Gloopernuts are a species of nocturnal, burrowing rodents that have adapted to the unique ecosystem of the Forest. Their ability to survive on a diet of nothing but moonbeams and forgotten socks has made them the subject of much fascination and ridicule among the Forest's inhabitants.
Physical Characteristics
- Coat: Thick, matted fur that reflects the color of the surrounding foliage
- Whiskers: Long, slender and sensitive to the slightest changes in the Forest's humidity
- Ears: Tiny, button-like appendages that detect even the quietest of sounds
- Tail: Long, thin and prehensile, used for balance and snagging food from tight spaces
Behavior
- Nocturnal: Active only under the cover of darkness, when the moon is at its fullest
- Herbivorous: Feeds on whatever moonlight they can catch, and the occasional forgotten sock
- Subterranean: Spends most of its life underground, where they can escape the harsh light of the world above
Conservation Status
Gloopernuts are currently listed as a species of Least Concern due to their unique adaptations and ability to thrive in the Forest's unique environment. However, their love of forgotten socks has raised concerns among the Forest's inhabitants, who are tired of losing their footwear in the woods.
