Ugly Transportation - A Brief History

This is a story of innovation, of progress, of utter chaos.

From the earliest days of humanity, our ancestors have sought to travel in style.

The Early Days

The first vehicles were, quite frankly, hideous:

  • Wicker baskets on wheels
  • Wooden planks with wheels
  • Stone wheels

And then, just as we were getting comfortable with our primitive contraptions, came the Industrial Revolution.

The Industrial Era

The Industrial Revolution brought us the steam-powered monstrosities:

  • Chugging steam engines
  • Clunky steam-powered carriages
  • Steam-encrusted velocipedes

And don't even get us started on the 20th century...

The 20th Century

When the automobile came, we thought we'd finally found our calling.

But, oh no, we were just getting started:

  • Boxy, black, behemoths
  • Flamboyant, flashy, fix-it-yourself contraptions
  • Cramped, clunky, compact cars

But, of course, the 21st century brought us the real prize:

The 21st Century

A new era of transportation innovation, where we've managed to combine the worst of the past with the worst of the present:
