Step 2: Change the subject

Now that you've got your white noise, it's time to really get your mind off the hook.

Find a new subject to focus on. Anything will do: a bird outside the window, a stain on the ceiling, or a particularly pungent smell from the office kitchen.

As you gaze upon this new subject, try to let go of all your thoughts. Let the whiteness wash over you, like a gentle stream.
