Fart Entropy 2021: A Study in Sphincter Dynamics

Methodology

In our groundbreaking study, we employed a unique blend of scientific rigor and flatulence to investigate the intricacies of farts. We analyzed 500 farts from 10 participants, each of whom consumed a carefully curated diet of beans, cabbage, and other gassy delights.

Our research team, consisting of Dr. Fartnik, Professor Sphincter, and a rotating cast of graduate students, used a custom-built Fart-O-Meter to measure the duration, intensity, and color of each emitted fart. The Fart-O-Meter, a device of our own design, employed a sensitive array of sensors to detect even the slightest changes in fart dynamics.

We also conducted in-depth interviews with our participants, probing their thoughts on the relationship between farts and social anxiety, farts and personal space, and farts and the meaning of life itself.

Our findings were nothing short of astonishing. We discovered that farts are not just random events, but rather complex systems governed by their own unique laws of physics. We identified 17 distinct types of farts, ranging from the gentle Type I: The Gentle Fart to the catastrophic Type XVII: The Fart of Doom.
