Chapter 1: The King's Dithering

King Lear, a man of questionable sanity, sat upon his throne, staring at a map of his kingdom. His advisors whispered to him of the impending invasion of his arch-nemesis, the Duke of Fakenstein.

"I'll never let it happen," King Lear declared, his voice firm but trembling slightly. "I'll call upon the wisest man in the land... my son, Edgar."

"But, father, I'm not sure I'm the wisest," Edgar stammered, "I'm still trying to figure out how to make my own toast appear."
