The Mysterious Case of the Missing Sock

It was a dark and stormy night when the Sock Sleuths first arrived at the scene. The laundry room was in disarray, with socks scattered everywhere.

Lead Investigator, Jane Sock, examined the evidence and noted the following:

• A lone argyle sock, once paired with a striped sock, now lay abandoned on the floor.
• A trail of lint and static leading to the dryer.
• A suspicious-looking ball of tangled yarn on the counter.

Next, Jane called in the experts: the Sock Sleuths' ace detective, Socks McGee, and forensic specialist, The Countess of Counting.

Socks McGee examined the evidence and deduced:

"It's a case of Socknapping, plain and simple."

But The Countess of Counting had a different theory:

"I think the socks were merely victims of the dreaded Sock Sinkhole of Doom."
