What Happens If I Just Keep Running?

By Dr. Emily J. Schedule, Ph.D.

In a world where time is money and money is time, the concept of "just keeping running" has taken on a life of its own. It's a phenomenon so profound, so all-consuming, that it's earned a name: Schedule-Itis.

Dr. Emily J. Schedule, renowned expert in the field of temporal productivity, has studied this affliction in depth. "When you're afflicted with Schedule-Itis," she explains, "your brain is constantly racing with tasks, deadlines, and appointments. You become a slave to your calendar, a prisoner of your planner."

But what happens if you just... keep running? We spoke to several patients, er, sufferers, of Schedule-Itis for their take on this question.

"I just keep running," says John, "because I'm afraid of what happens if I stop." He's a middle manager at a large corporation, and his Schedule-Itis is so advanced that he's begun to experience "time-traveling anxiety." "If I stop running," he confided, "I'll be left behind."
