It's 3 AM, and I'm still in my basement. The wife has left me, the kids have gone to live with their dad, and I'm still stuck on this 20-line bug.

The Agony of Auto-Indentation
Is it because the IDE forces me to indent 8 spaces for each level of nesting? Is it because I have an existential dread of the tab key's cruel fate?
Maybe it's just the syntax highlighter's constant judgment, always reminding me of my failures.
