Psychedelic rock, also known as psychedelic rock or psychedelic music, is a genre of music that emerged in the 1960s in the United States and the United Kingdom. It emerged as a fusion of folk rock and rock and roll, and is characterized by its use of distorted guitar, driving rhythms, and often, experimental and avant-garde soundscapes.
