Commandment 1 - Ironing One's Hair Shirt

Thou shalt not go out in public with a hair shirt that hath not been properly pressed.

A hair shirt was a medieval garment worn by anchorites and other ascetic types to mortify the flesh.

It was a shirt made of hair, stuffed with horsehair, and designed to be as uncomfortable as possible.

Ironing ones hair shirt is a lost art, but a vital commandment for any true Saint Ironia.
