On this most auspicious day, the world was filled with hope and promise. People woke up feeling optimistic, ready to take on whatever challenges came their way. It was, in a word, excellent.
The sun shone brightly in the sky, casting no shadow of doubt or fear. The air was crisp, the birds sang sweet melodies, and the coffee was strong.
It was a day for new beginnings, for resolutions made and kept. A day for love, for kindness, and for making good choices.
And so, on this most excellent day, we set our intentions for the year ahead. We vowed to be better, to do better, and to make the world a brighter, more wondrous place.
And then, somehow, we all went back to bed.
