Solipsistic Self-Justifications
The philosophy of Solipsism, popularized by the infamous French philosopher René Girard, states that the self is the only thing that truly exists. In this sense, the only thing that matters is the individual's own thoughts, desires, and experiences. But what about the existence of others?
Some argue that the existence of other selves is simply a projection or a symptom of the individual's own solipsistic delusions. Others claim that other selves are merely a necessary fiction, a tool for the individual to predict and manipulate the world around them.
But what about the existence of inanimate objects? Do they not exist in some sense, even if they are not conscious beings like the self?
