For the purposes of this procedure, a sock is defined as any item of footwear with an open-toed design.

• Step 1: Examine the Sock
• Step 2: Identify the Sock Pattern
• Step 3: Note the Sock Material
• Step 4: Record Sock Size and Color
• Proceed to Step 5: Sock Material Identification or Proceed to Step 3: Sock Pattern Identification
