Step 2: Sock Paring - The Dark Art

After the initial shock of realizing you have a Sock Overload, it's time to take the next step: Sock Paring. This is the most crucial step in the Sock Ritual.

Using a fork, pierce the heart of the Sock Mountain, separating the singles from the pairs.

Sort the singles into the "Lost and Alone" pile, the nearly-matches into the "Close but No Cigar" pile, and the perfect pairs into the "True Love" pile.
