Implementation of Sock Pairing Best Practices: 11.2
This is the most important section in all of Sockdom. Sock pairing is an art, not a science. But, if you insist on being scientific, here's some rules of thumb to follow:
- Don't even think about pairing socks with a different fabric content.
- Make sure the socks are the same size and shape. Don't try to force it, you'll just end up with a mess.
- Matching stripes are key. If they're not identical, it's a deal-breaker.
- Heel-to-toe alignment is crucial. Don't get it wrong, or you'll have to start over.
- Toe tags are the key to a good sock pairing. Don't even think about it, just do it.
- Don't get too hung up on color. It's about the overall aesthetic, baby!
- But, seriously, if you're going for a bold look, make sure they're not clashing.
- Toe clips are a thing of beauty. Use them liberally.
- And, for the love of all things Sockdom, don't pair a striped sock with a polka-dot sock. It's just wrong.
