Soil Sampling: The Art of Uncovering the Truth
Soil sampling is the unsung hero of soil engineering. Without it, you're just digging up a whole lot of nothing.
Here are the best practices for soil sampling:
Best Practices:
- Use a probe that's at least 1m long, unless you're sampling a sandbox, in which case use a 10ft probe.
- Collect at least 10 samples per 10,000 square feet of soil. Don't ask us why.
- Make sure your samples are at least 10% organic matter. If you're not sure what that means, you're in the wrong industry.
