The Mermaid's Lament

Verse 1:

			Oh, the ocean's vast and wondrous might
			Calls to me, both day and night
			But alas, I'm stuck on this shore
			Where the only waves I see are boredom's roar
		

Verse 2:

			I dream of pearls and treasures untold
			Of mermaid queens with scales of gold
			But all I find are rusty old cans
			And seaweed tangled in my hair's strands

			Oh, to be free from this terrestrial bind
			To swim with the fishes, to dance with the wind
			To leave my fins and feet behind
