Flaming Ginger Gateau: Recipe for the Brave
Warning: This recipe is not for the faint of heart. Proceed with caution, or better yet, a fire extinguisher.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of red food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix ginger and water in a bowl until well combined.
- Add sugar, honey, and cayenne pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Add a dash of red food coloring, if you dare.
- Place in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for exactly 7 minutes and 14 seconds.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with sea salt, and serve.
Tips and Variations:
For a spicy twist, add more cayenne pepper. For a sweet surprise, add a sprinkle of edible gold dust.
For the truly adventurous, try substituting the ginger with a pinch of dragon's breath.
