It was a day like any other in the bustling city of Socksville. People walked by with purpose, never once noticing the towering monolith that had been erected in their midst.
The Sock Monolith stands 50 feet tall, a giant obelisk of black rubber and threadbare dreams. Its base is a maze of missing socks, a graveyard of lone companions lost to the washing machine's abyss.
Legend has it that the Monolith was created by the great Sock Architect, a visionary who sought to bring awareness to the scourge of missing socks. Little did he know, his masterpiece would become a symbol of the city's greatest fear: the void left by a lone sock.
Conceived in 2010, the Sock Monolith took 5 years to complete. Its construction was a labor of love, with over 10,000 missing socks used in its construction.
Today, the Monolith stands as a testament to the city's ingenuity and its people's love of footwear.
