The Futility of Existence

A 3000-word study on the meaninglessness of a plain plate of toast.

Study Lead: Dr. Reginald P. Bottomsworth, renowned expert in the field of Existential Dread.

This study's findings were inconclusive, but not surprising. A plain plate of toast, devoid of any inherent significance, was presented to 17 subjects, who responded with a range of emotions, from apathy, to ennui, to mild curiosity.

We conclude that the futility of existence is a universal human experience, regardless of cultural background or socioeconomic status. But hey, at least the toast was nice.
