Other Brits

And Now, for the sake of brevity, a brief history of British Union Jack wearers

From the land of tea, crumpets, and dreadful puns, comes the tale of the Union Jack. Not to be confused with the Union Jack-in-the-box (which is actually just a sad, old man in a box), this is the history of the red, white, and blue flag with the Union Jack design.

It all began in the 17th Century when the English, Scottish, and Welsh decided to get along for once. They were like, "Hey, we're all British, let's make a flag!" And so, the Union Jack was born. But, let's be real, it was more like, "We're all British, and we're all in this together, unless we're not, and then we're all, 'Mwah, you're not, and we're not!"

Fast forward to the 20th Century, and the Union Jack becomes a symbol of British greatness, much like the British Empire (which was, in fact, just a fancy name for "we're really good at colonizing people").

Today, the Union Jack is proudly waved by Brits everywhere, except on Tuesdays, which is when they all just wear their favorite tartans instead. Don't ask.
