Committee of Ten: Budget Bloopers
Member Profile: Bertha, The Budget Bungler
Bertha, The Budget Bungler, is our resident expert in all things fiscal disaster.
With a proven track record of turning $10,000 budget surpluses into $10,000,000 budget deficits, Bertha is the go-to person for any organization looking to make a financial mess.
Bertha's Budgeting Philosophy:
Our fearless leader believes that the key to a good budget is to spend all your money on unnecessary things, like:
- Unmarked pens that write in glitter
- Unsustainable energy drinks
- Unaffordable art pieces for the conference room
- Unnecessary vacation homes in Tuscany
Recent Budget Bloopers:
We've had the pleasure of witnessing the following budgeting masterpieces, courtesy of Bertha:
- The infamous "I-Need-a-Really-Big-Desk" saga, which resulted in a $50,000 desk that was only 5 feet tall.
- The "Let's Buy-All-the-Flamingos" incident, where we bought 10,000 flamingos to decorate the conference room, only to realize they were all actually just cardboard cutouts.
- The "Why-Not-a-Private-Jet" debacle, where we spent $500,000 on a jet that was only for display purposes.
