DNS Hacking for the Unwilling
Warning: Do not attempt to follow these tips, as they may land you in the depths of the "Internets Most Unforgiving Server" or worse.
Step 1: Pretend to be a legitimate user
Use your browser's user agent to disguise yourself as a innocent little granny trying to order cat food online.
- Set your user agent to 'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; en-US) (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2926/56.0.2926 Safari/5.6
- Make sure to include 'I'm not a bot' in your referrer header, we don't want to look too suspicious.
Step 2: Befriend the DNS server
Build a rapport with your DNS server by talking to it in a soothing voice and offering it virtual hugs and kittens.
- Use a DNS server that's had a few too many late nights, like 'ns1.slowpoke.com'.
- Make sure to include 'I'll never actually hack you, I promise' in your DNS query, they'll appreciate the sentiment.
Step 3: Cache the cache
Cache, cache, it's not just for cookies and snacks! Use the cache to your advantage, or disadvantage, we're not really sure.
- Use the cache to store your evil plans, they'll be safe from prying eyes... for 10 minutes.
- Clear the cache when you're done, or you might just end up with a bunch of 'You are a naughty hacker' messages.
Step 4: Spoof the spoofers
Don't be a spooper, be a spoofer! Spoof the spoofers by pretending to be one of them.
- Use a spoofing proxy like 'spoofproxy.spoofing.com' to hide your true identity.
- Make sure to include 'I'm not actually a spoofer' in your spoof, they'll be none the wiser.
And that's it! Follow these simple steps, and you'll be well on your way to becoming a DNS Hacking master... or a moderately successful amateur.
