DNS Hacking for the Unwilling

Warning: Do not attempt to follow these tips, as they may land you in the depths of the "Internets Most Unforgiving Server" or worse.

Step 1: Pretend to be a legitimate user

Use your browser's user agent to disguise yourself as a innocent little granny trying to order cat food online.

  1. Set your user agent to 'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; en-US) (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2926/56.0.2926 Safari/5.6
  2. Make sure to include 'I'm not a bot' in your referrer header, we don't want to look too suspicious.

Step 2: Befriend the DNS server

Build a rapport with your DNS server by talking to it in a soothing voice and offering it virtual hugs and kittens.

  1. Use a DNS server that's had a few too many late nights, like 'ns1.slowpoke.com'.
  2. Make sure to include 'I'll never actually hack you, I promise' in your DNS query, they'll appreciate the sentiment.

Step 3: Cache the cache

Cache, cache, it's not just for cookies and snacks! Use the cache to your advantage, or disadvantage, we're not really sure.

  1. Use the cache to store your evil plans, they'll be safe from prying eyes... for 10 minutes.
  2. Clear the cache when you're done, or you might just end up with a bunch of 'You are a naughty hacker' messages.

Step 4: Spoof the spoofers

Don't be a spooper, be a spoofer! Spoof the spoofers by pretending to be one of them.

  1. Use a spoofing proxy like 'spoofproxy.spoofing.com' to hide your true identity.
  2. Make sure to include 'I'm not actually a spoofer' in your spoof, they'll be none the wiser.

And that's it! Follow these simple steps, and you'll be well on your way to becoming a DNS Hacking master... or a moderately successful amateur.
