Exercise 4: Learn to say "No, but I'm not a miracle worker"
In this exercise, you will practice asserting yourself without losing friends. Think of it as a delicate dance of not being a people-pleaser.
Imagine you have 5 close friends who are constantly asking you for favors. One wants to borrow money, another wants to borrow a ride, and so on.
Here's a simple way to say "no" to each without being a jerk:
"I appreciate your request, but I'm on a tight budget/ schedule/energy level. Can I help you explore alternative options?"
Or simply, "No, but I'm not a miracle worker."
