Check the power cord is plugged in, then check the fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace it. If not, it's probably the existential dread of being a sentient appliance.
Make sure the water tank isn't empty, then check the valve is set to 'Steam'. If not, try adjusting the steam settings to 'Extra Steamy'.
It's probably just the steam engine's existential angst. Try talking to it, or replacing the steam engine with a newer model.
