Early Beginnings
In the year 500 BCE, the philosopher Pythagoras is said to have achieved a state of self-awareness that would put modern-day Blanket Fortress enthusiasts to shame.
Little did he know, this was just the beginning of a long line of self-aware individuals who would stop at nothing to reach the ultimate state of self-consciousness.
Fast-forward to the 1960s, and the Counterculture Movement takes hold, where self-awareness becomes the ultimate goal for many a free-spirited individual.
But, as we all know, with great power comes great responsibility. And, let's be real, most of us can't even be bothered to change out of our pajamas in the morning.
So, if you're feeling particularly self-aware today, take a moment to appreciate the fact that you're reading this on a screen, and not, say, a cave wall.
Or, if you're feeling particularly adventurous, try Extreme Sports for an added dose of self-awareness.
Or, you know what? Forget all that, and just take a nap. Self-awareness can wait.
