The History of Toilet Paper in Space
Did you know that the first space station to feature toilet paper was the Soviet space station, Salyut 6? It had a special toilet with a built-in fan that made it feel like you were on a spaceship, but with the added luxury of wiping your butt!
But wait, it gets even better! The toilet paper was also used by cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, on his historic 1-day space flight in 1961! Talk about making a splash!
But, did you also know that the first toilet paper roll was invented by an American? That's right, folks! It was invented by some guy named Joseph Gayetty, who also invented the first folding chair, the first ice cream cone, and probably the first thing you did on a Sunday morning, too.
