The Sock of Many Holes, also known as the "Socks of Desperation" or "The Sock of Unfortunate Circumstances," is a mysterious, ancient, and utterly useless piece of footwear.
Legend has it that this sock was once the pride of a great and powerful wizard, but after a series of unfortunate events, it was lost and forgotten in a land of questionable taste.
According to the Sock of Many Holes's own website, the sock was first created in the year 1356 by the great wizard, Zorgon the Unwise.
The sock was said to have been imbued with magical powers, but these powers were quickly lost when the wizard, in a fit of rage, threw the sock at a particularly stubborn stain on the floor.
From that day on, the Sock of Many Holes was doomed to wander the land, searching for its lost purpose and a decent laundry basket.
Despite its lack of actual power, the Sock of Many Holes is said to have the following abilities:
