The Conjugation Conundrum

It's not just a matter of adding -ed. Oh no, it's so much more complicated.

For example, why does the verb "go" become "went" and not "goed"? It's just so unfair.

And don't even get me started on the irregular ones: "take", "eat", "go", "see"... You know, the usual suspects.

Why can't they just stick to a simple pattern like everyone else?
