You know what's weird? We've been using parentheses for years, but nobody's ever really thought about it. Like, what does it even mean? Is it just a fancy way of saying "hello"? "Goodbye"? "I'm a fancy person with a lot of commas"?
Turns out, it's not that simple. (Maybe it's not that simple.)
