Rule 5: Engagement
Rule 5 is the most important, yet most ignored, rule in the Taco Debate Universe. It's all about being a functioning member of society while arguing with others.
When engaging with others, especially those with opposing viewpoints, remember to:
- Be a decent human being: Don't try to burn down your opponent with a barrage of poorly constructed memes and half-remembered statistics. Instead, listen actively and respond thoughtfully.
- Ask questions, not questions with an agenda: Avoid asking leading questions or ones that are designed to trip up your opponent. Instead, ask open-ended, genuine queries that might, just might, lead to some semblance of understanding.
- Don't get too attached to your opinions: Remember, in the grand tapestry of the internet, your opinions are but a fleeting moment's notice. Be prepared for your views to shift and change like the wind (or like the weather in a tornado).
