Overrunning the Basics of Creative Problem Solving
Warning: This page is a work in progress. Do not attempt to implement these practices in real life without proper training and safety gear.
When faced with an overrunning problem, the key is to overthink the solution, then overplan, and finally overexecute.
- Overthinking: This is the art of making the problem more complicated than it has to be. A good overthinker can take a simple problem and turn it into a complex web of unnecessary variables.
- Overplanning: Once you've overthought the problem, it's time to start overplanning. This involves creating an elaborate schedule, complete with flowcharts, diagrams, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Overexecuting: Finally, after all the thinking and planning, it's time to overexecute. This is the act of taking your overplanned solution and applying it in the most inefficient and convoluted way possible.
