Boule Basics
A breadwinner's guide to the most epic of all breads - the Boule.
So, you think you're ready to tackle the mighty Boule? Well, buckle up, buttercup, because this is gonna be a wild ride.
Here's the lowdown:
- Start with 1 1/2 cups of warm water (no, seriously, use warm water, or the yeast will hate you)
- 1/4 cup of sugar (don't @ me, the yeast likes a little somethin')
- 2 tsp active dry yeast (don't even think about using that old, sad-looking yeast from 2018)
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour (don't get cute with the whole wheat, we're keepin' it real)
- 1 egg, beaten (for that egg-cellent glaze)
- 1 egg, for the love of all that's holy, don't overdo it with the egg
- 1 tsp salt (use the good stuff, or the bread will taste like regret)
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted (because, priorities)
