THE BREAK ROOM BETRAYAL

It's a quiet afternoon in the break room. The coffee machine is broken, the fridge is empty, and the microwave is still emitting that one weird smell from last night's leftovers. But amidst the bleakness, you sense a presence.

You turn to see your coworker, Karen, sitting in the corner, sipping on a bright pink Starbucks cup and typing away on her phone with an air of superiority.

"I'm not even working," she says, her voice dripping with nonchalance, "I'm on a 'break'."

A faint sense of outrage stirs within you, but you can't quite pinpoint why. Is it the fact that she's not doing her actual job, or is it the fact that she's somehow managed to score free coffee from the now-broken machine?

You're not sure, and that's what makes this situation so infuriating.
