Way back in the Middle Ages, Department 42 was still a fledgling organization. We were just a bunch of monks with a passion for paperwork and a penchant for pointless meetings.
Our founding fathers, Brother Reginald and Sister Margaret, were determined to create a system of rules and regulations that would govern every aspect of our daily lives. And thus, the Bureaucratic Overlordship of the 42nd Department was born.
For centuries, we toiled away, creating forms in triplicate, filling out reports in quadruplicate, and attending meetings that lasted until the sun went down. It was a time of great productivity and efficiency... or so we thought.
