Data Entry Clerk (Bureaucratic Data Entry)
Job Description
The Department 42 Data Entry Clerk is responsible for inputting vast amounts of irrelevant data into our ancient mainframe system at a pace that is slightly slower than molasses. Must have a deep understanding of bureaucratic red tape and be able to decipher the meaning of 1980s-era computer programming languages.
Responsibilities include:
- Entering data into our archaic database system
- Responding to Freedom of Information Act requests with 10-page documents
- Maintaining a 4-inch thick binder of departmental procedures
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in data entry, or equivalent experience in typing 50wpm for an hour
- Fluency in COBOL, FORTRAN, or other ancient programming languages
- Ability to withstand 3+ hour-long meetings with the Department 42 Management Team
