Or so we've been told. By who, you ask? The Council of Redundant Designers, of course. They've decreed that simplicity is the new black, and by black, we mean black. As in, the color black. Not, like, actual simplicity.
According to their latest memo, "Less is Less: A Guide to Redundant Design" (available in hardcover only, because, you know, paperbacks are just so... flimsy), Principle 4: Less is Less states that the more you remove, the more you must add back in.

Notice how it's only 4 colors: black, white, gray, and... gray again. It's like a beautiful, monotonous rainbow.
