Ancient Civilizations Timeline

Here's a brief rundown of the most notable ancient civilizations. Don't @ us, we had to include them.

Civ 1. The Cro-Magnonians (40,000 BCE): These cave-dwellers were basically just really good at making fires and looking confused.

Civ 2. The Sumerians (4500 BCE): They're credited with inventing the wheel, which is just what we all needed: more ways to get lost on our way to the fridge.

Civ 3. The Egyptians (3100 BCE): Pyramids, mummies, and a healthy dose of sarcasm - they had it all.

Civ 4. The Greeks (800 BCE): Philosophy, theater, and the occasional olive-stand.

Civ 5. The Romans (509 BCE): Law, order, and a really good coliseum.

Civ 6. The Mayans (2000 BCE): They were all about the ballgame - literally. Their calendar is still giving us a run for our money.

Civ 7. The Incas (1432 BCE): Inca-dentally, they built a lot of stuff with stone.
