Welcome to Chain-mail 101, where we'll teach you how to wear armor like it's going out of style.
Or at least, how to wear it without getting it caught on your favorite sweater.
Chapter 1: The Basics
.mail = chainmail
That's it, really. Chain-mail is just a bunch of metal links strung together to make you look like a medieval goth kid.
However, it's not just about looks. Chain-mail is actually really good at not getting stabbed.
Chapter 2: The History of Chain-mail
Did you know that the word "mail" in chain-mail comes from "maille", the French word for "loop"? Yeah, that's right. It's a real thing.
Anyway, chain-mail has been around since the 10th century. It's been worn by knights, samurais, and even pirates.
Chapter 3: Chain-mail Maintenance
Chain-mail is a lot of work, folks. You gotta oil it, clean it, and even replace it when it gets all bent and broken.
But trust me, it's worth it. There's nothing quite like the feeling of wearing a nice, heavy suit of chain-mail to a Renaissance faire.
