Chapter 1: Basic Principles of Climate Dismissal
Welcome to Climate Denial 101, where we'll cover the fundamental concepts of ignoring the overwhelming scientific evidence for climate change. In this chapter, we'll explore the three main principles of effective climate denial:
- Principle 1: Deny the Science - This is the foundation of climate denial. Simply put, if the scientists say it's a problem, we don't believe them.
- Principle 2: Blame the Weather - Weather is unpredictable, so if it's hot outside, it's not climate change; if it's cold, it's just a cold snap.
- Principle 3: It's Not Me - Climate change is someone else's problem, not mine. I'm doing just fine, thank you very much.
