The Cookie: A Metaphor for the Futility of Life

As we all know, a cookie is a delicious, round, crunchy, chewy, and utterly meaningless thing that we find ourselves constantly craving. But what is the purpose of a cookie, really? Is it not a metaphor for the human condition itself?

Consider it: we toil and labor, day in and day out, to create something that will be devoured in mere minutes. We sacrifice our time, our energy, and our will to create a fleeting experience that will bring us temporary satisfaction, only to have it taken from us, leaving us with a lingering feeling of emptiness and regret.

Or, as the great philosopher, Cookieius once said, "A cookie is a microcosm of existence. We create, we consume, we are consumed."
