Buttermilk Scones with Lemon Zest and Lemon Curd
For when you want to be a bit more fancy
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons lemon curd
Instructions:
- Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough until it's smooth.
- Divide the dough into 8 pieces and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Top with lemon zest, lemon curd, and extra buttermilk, if you're feeling extra fancy.
