THE CREAM SCONES OF THE APOCALYPSE

Recipe for the End Times

When the world is ending, you want to make sure you've got the most decadent, most indulgent scone in the game. That's where these cream scones come in.

Ingredients:

• 3 cups cream, preferably from the finest apocalyptic cows
• 1 cup granulated sugar, crushed under the heel of a desperate survivor
• 1/2 cup heavy cream, because why not?
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted through the ruins of a bakery
• 1/2 teaspoon salt, harvested from the tears of the damned
• 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, a last-ditch effort to rise above the ashes
• 1/4 cup cold butter, melted under the warm glow of a nuclear sunset

Instructions:

1. Mix cream, sugar, and heavy cream in a bowl until smooth. Add the sifted flour and salt, and mix until just combined.
2. Drop in the butter, and mix until it's just a little chunky.
3. Turn the mixture into a well-oiled scone pan, and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.
4. Remove from oven, and top with more cream. Because, why not?
